There are many large houses in Sydney, even a few 'McMansions'... however at Access Removals, our focus is towards small house removals. So what is a large house... and what is a small house?

Last year we moved more three bedroom houses than any other kind of house. This statistic includes town-house relocations as well. However you do get large three bedroom houses, and small four bedroom houses. A better guide would be the total internal square metres of the house and whether there is a lot of built-in furniture or multiple lounge and/or entertainment areas.

Two-bedroom house

• Small terraces, town-houses & bungalows
• $110.00 per hour | 2 removalists + truck | 2-4 hours

• Small terraces, town-houses, detached houses & inner city dwellings
• $110.00 per hour | 2 removalists + truck | 4-6+ hours

• Single story houses, 1 up / 1 down, 3 story terraces
• $150.00 per hour | 3 removalists + truck | 5-7+ hours
  
  

Large houses

• $190.00 per hour | 4 removalists + truck | 6-8+ hours

With larger moves, eg. any four bedroom house and select three bedroom houses, we will require a site inspection at the pick up address to see the resources required for move, (the correct number of removalists and the best transport solution for your move).

If moving on an hourly rate, there are steps you can take to make sure that the relocation is a swift and easy process.

This includes:

• Making sure everything that is to be taken by the removalists is clearly marked and well packed. Lots of small loose items will add to the total time in comparison to a move where everything is packed in to standard sized removals cartons. Clearly labelling cartons will ensure that time is not lost at the drop off address asking where cartons are to be placed
• Organising what is to be taken by the removalists and if there is anything you will be taking yourself or being left behind. Also having a firm plan of where furniture is to be placed at the drop off
• Having a suitable space to park the truck for loading and, if possible, unloading. Small house removals do not require large trucks and may be situated on small roads with bad parking so having a good spot to park the truck could mean hours difference in the time taken to load and unload. Larger houses require even larger trucks, which may not be suited to all property access which is why we prefer to inspect the site prior to the relocation and possibly use two smaller trucks rather than one large one
• Packing your apartment contents in to standard sized removals cartons makes the removals process a lot simpler. Using two or three standard sized removals cartons (T-chest, book, crystal, Port-a-Robes) means that your home contents is packed into manageable sized objects specifically designed to be carried by removalists. While you may think you can save a lot of money by acquiring free boxes from stores, markets or friends, using the rental cartons provided by Access Removals can actually save money on your move, by reducing the total time spent carrying items and time packing the truck
